Relationship and Family Therapy (RAFT) Ltd has been nominated as CAN100 Community Hero of the Month for June 2026!
‘When family life feels tense, stuck or overwhelming, parents and carers often carry the weight silently, unsure where to turn. Relationship and Family Therapy, RAFT is here for those moments, offering warmth, understanding and specialist relationship and mental health support that helps families feel steadier, more connected and better able to cope. Parents and carers often describe the support as “a relief to finally feel understood” and “somewhere we don’t have to pretend we were coping.”
RAFT is a specialist counselling and therapeutic service supporting individuals, couples, families, children and young people, with a focus on relationships and mental health. Introducing - Relationship and Family Therapy (RAFT)
On 1st April 2025 our Charity, formerly known as Relate Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch re-branded into a larger, more sustainable brand; fit to serve the wider community. Relationship and Family Therapy (RAFT) Ltd was launched. The new name reflects the core nature of our services in supporting individuals and families, whilst symbolising a source of hope and help, with a nod to our coastal roots.
Following the collective disaffiliation from the Relate National brand in 2025, our Charity signed up to become a member of the Relationships England and Wales Network. Relationships England and Wales mirrors the same quality and standards as Relate, but provides a more dynamic platform for diversification and meeting the needs of our clients in new ways that work.
In April 2025, our catchment area expanded to include the New Forest and Hampshire. Subsequently in April 2026, RAFT expanded to cover additional areas including Dorset, South Wiltshire and beyond following the closure of local services. We now provide face to face services to clients in Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch, Wareham, Weymouth* and are developing further outposts to serve our community. Online webcam services are available further afield.
